KSD Academic & Student Well-being Recovery Plan

As a response to the ongoing COVID pandemic, each public school district, tribal compact school, and charter school in Washington state is required by the state Legislature and Congress to create and submit an Academic and Student Well-being Recovery Plan by June 1, 2021. This plan aims to:

  • identify which students and student groups need additional academic and well-being supports
  • define how those supports will be provided
  • and plan for recovery and acceleration of student learning and well-being over the summer, into the fall, and beyond.

By June 1, 2021, all districts, including Kent School District (KSD), must submit their plans to the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) via an online survey. In addition, each district must receive approval of their plan by their school board before submitting the plan to OSPI, then post their plan on the district website. Learn more about the OSPI plan guidance.

Our children continue to learn and grow during this global health crisis. We are interested in your perspective and ideas as we continue to understand and respond to our student's academic and social-emotional needs.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by May 17, 2021.

On May 7, 2021, this survey has been sent to and is open to:

  • KSD students in grades 6-12
  • KSD families
  • KSD community members and partners
  • KSD staff

In addition, we are conducting multiple opportunities for input per the OSPI plan guidance.
