Phased Continuous Learning Plan
Learning Continues While Buildings are Closed
Students continue learning from home while Kent School District buildings are closed for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year.
Our phased continuous learning plan was created in collaboration with the Kent Education Association (KEA) following the evolving guidance of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the State Board of Education (SBE).
The timing and actions in the plan were intended to ensure, to the greatest extent possible, our teachers and other certificated staff were equipped to provide meaningful learning experiences for students.
Phase 1: March 16 - May 1
Online learning resources and suggested learning schedules were available on our website for all students by level.
Phase 2: April 6 - May 1
Learning packets were mailed to elementary students and made available on our website for all students.
Phase 3: April 13 - June 18
Following our regularly scheduled spring break, staff began offering virtual office hours for students, engaging in professional development, and developing instructional resources for students and families.
Phase 4: May 4 - June 18
For the rest of the 2019-2020 school year, staff will engage all students in virtual instruction and/or posted lessons for a set amount of time each week.
