Dear Mill Creek Middle School Students, Families and Community

My name is Matt Fiteny and I am honored and excited to join the Bulldog community as Mill Creek Principal.  I come with 20+ years experience as an educator, working with students to prepare them for success in high school and beyond.  My educational journey has taken me all over the United States.  I grew up in the South, went to undergraduate school at the University of San Francisco, went to graduate school at Harvard University in Boston, and worked in Oakland and Washington DC before moving to Washington and serving as the 9^th Grade Assistant Principal at Clover Park High School in Lakewood.  I am humbled and honored to partner with you all in this journey to support our students in this important time of their lives.

Our mission at Mill Creek Middle School is to successfully prepare all students for their future. We are dedicated to individual development of attitudes, skills, knowledge and responsibilities that are essential to successful achievement in school and society.  We work to build students who are competent and confident, proud of who they are, feel connected to those around them, and are ready to be successful in our ever-changing world.  We do this by supporting students to show “paws-a-tive” behavior while in (and out of) school.  Our Bulldogs are Productive, Accountable, Welcoming and Safe.  We value our partnerships with families and community supports, knowing that, together, we can prepare students to be successful in high school and beyond.
