Community COVID-19 Activity

  • We Continue to Monitor the Data

Kent School District (KSD) continues to monitor COVID-19 activity data published by Public Health Seattle & King County. View the King County Dashboard to see COVID-19 activity for all cities within our district's boundaries.

On March 25, 2021, the Washington State Department of Health removed reference to DOH K-12 Metrics and Toolkit from their guidance and website, this tool was also known as the "Decision Tree" or Tools to Prepare for Provision of In-Person Learning among K-12 Students at Public and Private Schools during the COVID-19.

"The decision to resume or expand in-person learning is complex and requires weighing both risks and benefits to children, staff, their families, and the broader community. With regards to COVID-19, DOH recommends that local leaders consider COVID-19 activity level (i.e., case rates, percent test positivity, trends, etc.) as well as the educational, social, and emotional benefits of in-person learning for students." Washington State Department of Health.

Most importantly, we all continue to have a significant role in keeping the COVID activity levels low by practicing healthy and safe habits at work, at home, and in the community.
